MEL Gibson kicked his baby mama to the curb because she was too demanding — insiders say.
Oksana Grigorieva — who gave birth to Mel’s daughter, Lucia, in October last year — was keen to spend more time with the Braveheart star, who was throwing himself back into work.
But Gibson wasn’t prepared to reduce his hectic schedule, so decided to call time on the romance.
“Mel and Oksana’s relationship problems have been brewing for some time,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“He had cooled off toward her since Lucia was born, and then he got cold feet about the marriage.
“Mel is career-driven. His family — soon to be ex-wife Robyn and their kids — were used to that. They understood it. But Oksana never adapted to the situation.
“She wanted more attention from Mel, and wanted him to be around her and their baby daughter more often.
“Mel told her if she couldn’t handle his hectic work schedule, perhaps they’d be better off apart.”
Grigorieva was also concerned about Gibson’s relationships with other women.
“She’d heard all the stories of his womanizing,” said the source. “When she related her concerns to him, he hit the roof.
“Of course, Mel denied it. But it only made things worse between them.
“Oksana’s a handful, very demanding, and controlling. Mel will never admit he made a mistake, but he realized a little too late that life with his ex, Robyn, was a piece of cake compared to his relationship with Oksana.”
While promoting an upcoming concert in Moscow this past Monday, Oksana confirmed to reporters that she and Mel and split.
“I can tell you that… we have split up, suddenly and recently,” she said.
“Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason. But you will find out everything quite soon.
“We split up by mutual consent and we will raise our daughter together. She is currently with my mother in my Los Angeles home.”
